Blokowice celebrates socialist modernist and brutalist architecture of Katowice, capital of the Upper Silesian Industrial Region (Poland). The collection allows you to reconstruct some iconic buildings to be found in the city centre, such as Spodek and Superjednostka, prefabricated panel blocks from the city suburbs, like Odrodzenia Estate, and the controversial brutalist construction of Katowice Central Station demolished in 2011. Celebrating the unique character of Upper Silesia, the series also includes a postindustrial bonus - the 'Katowice' pit-shaft.
The collection is printed on recycled paper and includes an informative note on each building. Featuring 6 illustrated paper models to cut out and assemble.
